HOME AGAIN .

This series came together with inspiration from moving back to my hometown, San Clemente, California. Before I could drive I would walk to and from the beach, spending countless days there throughout the years. All the little streets I walk down lead to the beach and each one is unique. My series intends to highlight the different things I used to notice on my walks to the beach and my reconnection and new discoveries on my walks to the beach now.

Nostalgia weighs heavily throughout this series. Each image represents something I love about San Clemente – the waves, the architecture, the landscape, the view from my house, and watching the surfers catch waves. 

Creating my project using my new Sony a7r II with a 50mm lens forced me to approach each image with a new perspective. Some photos I got too close and had to back up farther than expected. While others, I seemed too far away and would have to move much closer. This series was shot in RAW photo format and edited into black and white using Adobe Lightroom.
