Taking a moment to slow down and look at the world around you reveals details you may have never noticed or appreciated. This photographic series visually brings you in close to unveil certain parts of Reno you may not have known existed. Zooming in with the lens or walking up to be as close as possible to a subject lets the intimate details be captured. Giving images a softer edit creates a nostalgic feeling. Shadows produce lines and shapes around us while clouds make various forms in the sky above us. Textures are seen in the native plants and on a horse’s mane. These photographs bring together the elements of photography into a cohesive and balanced series. 

The intent of this series is to communicate the beautiful simplicities our everyday lives have to offer. Taking time to notice the simpler things passed by everyday can divulge senses of gratitude and contentment in the chaoses faced each day.
